Gran Hotel Son Net Mallorca

The Hotel Son Net certainly lived up to its reputation of being one of the top ten hotels in the world. When a hotel is described as being ‘tucked away’ don’t be surprised to find that what that really means is you are going to need a car. That is really the only drawback whilst at the same time a massive advantage of this hotel, is the fact that it is quite isolated so you end up being cocooned in its’ warmth and charm, quite simply because it makes you feel miles away... The Hotel Son Net certainly lived up to its reputation of being one of the top ten hotels in the world. When a hotel is described as being ‘tucked away’ don’t be surprised to find that what that really means is you are going to need a car. That is really the only drawback whilst at the same time a massive advantage of this hotel, is the fact that it is quite isolated so you end up being cocooned in its’ warmth and charm, quite simply because it makes you feel miles away from reality. The Hotel Son Net has beautiful rooms, but go for the best room you can afford, because the standard style rooms are a bit small. There are lovely marble bathrooms, and beautiful mountain scenery. The food in the restaurant was quite superb, some of the best food I have ever eaten in an hotel, and the wines were really very good. However I would say that the service was a little slow at times but that has been a not uncommon experience in Spain and Majorca previously. I wouldn’t want you to infer from my comment about the slowness of the service as an implied criticism of the staff of the hotel, because during our stay the personal attention we received made us feel like royalty. It seemed by the time we had been there for a few days they knew all our likes and dislikes. The general age of the clientele was quite old, making us feel almost young again. Overall a very nice time was had, whilst staying at the Son Net, but probably not for a young family with children, and not a place to be when the weather is cool, due to the lack of things to do. A yacht charter in Mallorca and Menorca are packed with the most exciting ride of your life. The two places have thousands to offer to its visitors - from its beaches, ancient buildings, annual festivals and fiestas, caves, and architectural treasures. For instance, Mallorca (also known locally as "Majorca"), has a lot of beach resorts, stalagmite caves, and ancient monasteries. Moreover, the island is also famous for its bird watching activities especially in Puerto Pollensa. Meanwhile, Menorca has some of Europe's most protected and stunning coastlines. In fact, the UNESCO proclaimed the island as a Biosphere Reserve in 1993. Furthermore, it also has beautiful gorges where different kinds of rare and exotic flowers bloom. Sailing in Mallorca and Menorca and bird watching are an interesting combination. There are thousand of birds that either nests or migrate in Mallorca. These include the Marmora's Warbler, Scoop Owls, Moustached Warbler, Audouin's Gull, Eleonora's Falcon, and the Black Vulture. These birds are considered to be rare and can only be found in the country. Roughly around 200 species of birds called the island their home. The best place to watch birds is in Puerto Pollensa. This is because its area is close to to Albufuera marsh. On the other hand, the island of Minorca has also a lot of wildlife. Evidences of this include its densely forested areas, flush vegetation, and affluent fauna. About 15 percent of the whole island is covered with trees and plants. In fact, there are more than hundreds of plant species that can be found in Minorca. These include the capers, chamomile, prickly pears, wild fig, canes, rushes, and myrtle. Of the many trees in the area, the most numbers belong to the wild olive tree. When it comes to animals, the island has a lot of wild birds such as the Egyptian vultures, booted eagles, hawks, and red kites. In this place, hundreds of migrant birds occupy the sky with its bright and attractive feathers. The best time to watch birds is during the spring season - from the month of April to May. Mallorca has many sheltered coves and nice harbors which are well worth a visit, such as Andraitx, Pollensa and Alcudia. The coast of the 'calas' ('coves') is to be found on the south-east coast of Mallorca. This includes Porto Colom which is the best natural harbor and anchorage in Mallorca and possibly in the whole of the Balearic Islands. You can also visit the nature reserve of Cabrera Island (you need a special permission for this) then continue up the east coast of Mallorca and sail across to Menorca where you can visit the nice harbor of Mahon. Ibiza and Formentera are only a days sailing away. Ibiza town offering culture and great night life, contrasting with its neighbouring island of Formentera, with its relaxed attitude and beautiful beaches. Meanwhile, the island of Menorca can offer its gently sloping hills and fertile forests. yacht charter in Mallorca and Menorca can be best enjoyed as you along with your trip visit this island. The place, especially on the northern region, has been well known because of its thick and lush vegetations. On the other hand, the island's southern section is filled with sandy beaches.;sid=38ceec0d7944b8ae958b0e3855bbd93a;dcid=4;all_sr_blocks=9298603_90755757_0_1_0;checkin=2016-08-10;checkout=2016-08-11;dest_id=-397920;dest_type=city;dist=0;highlighted_blocks=9298603_90755757_0_1_0;room1=A%2CA;sb_price_type=total;srfid=cb62c1eb1e43a50b90aa28182168d7bccd5da7bbX1;type=total;ucfs=1&#map_closed

From Paris with Love

Paris is the capital city of France and is located in northern France. Paris is a very popular vacation spot, with over 30 million visitors per year. A few of the attractions the people go to see in Paris include a twelfth century cathedral called Notre Dame de Paris, The Napoleonic Arc de Triomphe and of course the nineteenth century Eiffel Tower. Any of these attractions would be a beautiful site to see for anybody.

The cathedral Notre Dame de Paris is found on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité and is easily considered one of the best examples of French Gothic architecture. Notre Dame is translated into “Our Lady” from French. The Notre Dame was one of the first buildings in the whole world to use arc-boutant. The cathedral started being built in 1163 and was completely finished in 1250-1345.

The Arc de Triomphe stands at the western end of the Champs-Élysées and honours the soldiers who fought for france, particularly in the Napoleonic Wars. The arch is over 165 ft (51 meters) in height and is 145 ft (45 meters) wide. It is the second largest triumphal arch in all of the world. The Eiffel Tower, built in the 19th century is the tallest structure in paris and one of the most notable attractions of the world.

The iron tower was visited by 6,428,441 people and more than 200,000,000 in its entire lifetime. The entire structure towers over the city with the height of 1,063 ft (324 meters). In 1887 the tower was named the tallest structure in the world and held its title until 1930. Any of these monuments would be absolutely wonderful to see and you should definitely experience them.

Top Attractions In Paris

Paris, France is the home of European refinement and love.  Fashion, historical culture, and overindulgence seem to be around every turn. While there are lots of things to do in Paris, there are five attractions everyone must see at least once when they visit Paris.

Built in 1889, the Eiffel Tower is the icon of Paris. It was erected as tribute to the end of the French Revolution, but today it is one of the most well-known and most recognizable buildings in the world. The magic of the Eiffel Tower can truly be felt when you venture to the top to get a spectacular view of Paris. Going to the top of the Tower right before sunset provides the best views. Please don’t try to take the stairs. You can reach the first two levels of the observation decks by foot, but why settle for that when you can ride the elevator to the very top.  Somehow the sweat and gasps for breath as you hike up the flights of stairs steals from the romantic mood of the Eiffel Tower but there are the odd fitness gurus who attempt the walk or even run up. After it gets dark, you can see the lights on the Tower twinkle in the twilight. Lights go off at 2 am, so be sure to catch a glimpse before then.

The Louvre is a top attraction in Paris and one of the most famous art museums in the world. Don’t make the mistake of thinking you can see it in a day.  It will likely take you three days to peruse the famous art work, and take in the majesty of the Louvre. The Louvre is home to famous art like the Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa. Be sure not to miss a trip to the Louvre on your next visit to Paris.

The Champs Elysees is a famous stretch of road that goes through the center of Paris.  It starts at the Arc de Triomphe and goes outward to the Place de la Concorde and is lined with shops, cafes, and 5 star hotels. Bring comfortable shoes since you’ll want to walk down this avenue to get the full experience. Christmas and New Years are favorite times to visit the Champs Elysees for the lights and hustle and bustle of the holidays.

The Seine river winds through the center of Paris. Taking one of the available river cruises is a popular way to see the many sights of Paris. Take a cruise at night to see the lights of Paris – it’s a whole different cruise to see the city at night.

It’s also fun to walk along the banks of the Seine river.  Among all the popular buildings, art, and monuments, you’ll find small stands where people sell tourist items and Paris memorabilia.

Take a short train ride to Versailles to visit the Chateau of Versailles, one of the largest castles in the world and home to the King. The Chateau de Versailles has more than 700 rooms, 1250 fireplaces, 2000 windows, 67 staircases, and over 1,800 acres of gardens. It is a magnificent home which has now been transformed into a museum. You can take a tour of the castle or walk the grounds yourself. There are also restaurants and outdoor restrooms available for tourists.

When vacationing in Paris, stay at Le Meridien Etoile set on the Seine River, a stones throw from the Champs Elysees, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Louvre. This hotel features elegant rooms, fantastic room service, and the best location in Paris. These five attractions are only a small sampling of the variety of fun, interesting, and culturally educating things to do while in Paris.
